Radar: 25th Trillium Book Award Shortlist Readings, The Goat or, Who Is Sylvia?, Get Lost In The Wood, Little Terrors Vol. 10

BOOKS & LIT | 25th Trillium Book Award Shortlisted Author Readings
The 25th Trillium Book Award will be announced tomorrow night and so tonight, the eve before the big announcement, the finalists will take the stage at Toronto Reference Library to read from their works. Authors Tony Burgess, Ken Babstock, David Bezmozgis, Phil Hall, AurĂŠlie Resch and Monia Mazigh will share excerpts before the biggest night of their careers to adoring bookworms from across the city. Celebrity literary critics will head up panels to discuss the shortlist of books up for the 25th annual award. The reading is open to the public but requires an RSVP on the Ontario Media Development Corporation Facebook page.

THEATRE | The Goat or, Who Is Sylvia?
Edward Albee's Tony Award winning and Pulitzer Prize nominated play The Goat or, Who is Sylvia? premieres at the Tarragon tonight for its tenth year in production by Toronto theatre company ATIC Productions. Local actors Tim Walker, Rosemary Doyle, Benjamin Blais and Ben Hayward portray the tale of architect Martin and his adventures with a less-than-conventional mistress in this piece about family crisis and infatuation. The Goat runs until June 24th with tickets available through the Tarragon box office.

ART | Get Lost In The Wood
A three-day festival of collaborative art and performance that involves audience participation, Get Lost In The Wood is an arts festival comprised of ten artists DIY-ing together with an end goal of creating one main piece. Taking place at Everyone is an Artist Studios at Dundas and Carlaw, the focus is on using wood to create artwork that interacts with humanity. Running until June 21st, the festival features artists like Vicky Avramopoulos, Justin Paddock and uber 500 as well as performances by Josh Tremblay and Neon Knights.

FILM | Little Terrors Vol. 10--The Abyss
Everybody's favourite little screening of horror returns with its 10th installment at The Projection Booth tonight. Rue Morgue Magazine's Little Terrors showcase features two hours of gore and disturbing content chopped up into ten short films by filmmakers like Steven Kostanski, Clark Baker and Robert Morgan. Focused around the theme of the abyss, each film will explore the deepest, most horrific corners of the mind and spirit with filmmaker Q&As to follow. Sorry, kids, this event is 18+.
