FASHION | The Bazaar: A Pop Up Shop by RAC
Vintage threads, consignment pieces and thrifted finds will be on display this weekend at The Bazaar, a makeshift pop up market set up in a King West gallery. This opening night party will get the shopping going with free flowing booze and a DJ set by Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning. Participating stores include popular Toronto boutiques like LAB Consignment 69 Vintage, Robber, Love of Mine and places that sell newer pieces like Jacflash. Come early to check out the stock of men's and women's new and vintage apparel while having a drink amongst like-minded fashion friends.

CULTURE | Tartan Day Celebration
The Irish had their day, now it's the Scots turn to prove their drinking skills are up to par! Tartan Day, a day to drink to Scottish heritage, coincides with that other holiday happening tomorrow so the Steam Whistle Brewery is celebrating by counting down until April 6th with a party tonight. The McDonnell School of Highland Dance are hosting the party, complete with live performances and dances by Toronto Fire Pipes and Drums Band and local bluegrass band The Cedar Strippers amongst many other talents. In addition to live music, hors d'oeuvres will be served and whiskey tastings will happen on site. Come drink until it's black as the Earl of Hell's waistcoast!

ART | Freudoscope
Ukrainian-Canadian illustrator and painter Oleg Lipchenko explores the myths, facts and speculations surrounding the life of famous psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. In Freudoscope, Lipchenko illustrates caricatures of Freud and his colleagues in humourous discussions with accompanying descriptive narratives all about the life and death of the Austrian doctor. Signed copies will be available and the artist will be in attendance. Oleg Lipchenko will also participate in an artist's talk about his work on Sunday, April 15th at 1PM in the gallery.

FILM | Ciné-Jeudi- Pouissières de villee
It's Cine-Jeudi at the National Film Board's Mediatheque and tonight's screening is a French documentary that follows a group of boys in the Congo who live in poverty. Found sleeping under a table in the markets of Brazzaville, the subtitled movie has the filmmaker following the boys as they scavenge and survive the only way they know how. Tickets to Pouissières de villee are available at the door with discounts for students and seniors available.

BOOKS & LIT | Carleton Wilson Celebrates National Poetry Month
April is National Poetry Month and to celebrate our finger snapping, coffee house loitering counterparts of the literary world, Carleton Wilson will be reading from his latest book "Material Sublime" at the Deer Park Public Library. The poems of this collection all take place in Toronto's Junction neighbourhood, where the poet, publisher and award-winning book designer Wilson lives. Sponsored by the League of Canadian Poets, this event is free and open to the public.
