CULTURE | Trampoline Hall
It's about time for another stimulating evening of Trampoline Hall! This well-attended lecture series chooses some unusual topics for discussion, but undeniably makes them work to deliver laughs, the occasional brainstorm, and many shades in between. The curators of this ongoing intellectual spectacle thrive on spontaneity and energy in their guest lecturers. Tonight's edition is curated by Kelly Jenkins, and features Stephen Delong on "Ritalin", Ilene Sova's "Where Are You From?", and Helen Spitzer will discuss "lying".

MUSIC | Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
Since parting ways with Oasis in 2009, many have been waiting for Noel Gallagher's solo career to kick into action. The results are in! Naming his group after the Jefferson Airplane tune "High Flying Bird," he has assembled a band of past Oasis collaborators, and players from other English bands, such as The Lemon Trees, and The Zutons. The project's self-titled debut album was released last month, and the first single "The Death of You and Me," which dropped back in August, began at #15 on the UK singles chart. This should be a great show for fans of both Oasis, and Gallagher himself.

BOOKS & LIT | Amanda Jernigan and David Hickey
Tonight, a joint reading at Type Books on Queen: Amanda Jernigan and David Hickey will share some of their work with us! Jernigan recently launched her book of poetry, "Groundwork," which features three sequences of poetry, all taking place in exotic or mythological locales, providing a commentary on modern values and aesthetics. David Hickey currently resides in London, Ontario, and his poetry collection, "Open Air Bindery" has a universal appeal, and focuses on both inner states, and outer layers. Both poets are associated with Biblioasis Press.

MUSIC | Blue Scholars
Blue Scholars hits Wrongbar tonight! This Seattle-based duo has been making their own brand of hip hop since its formation in 2002, and they like to call it ""cinema art rap". Their name is a play on the term "blue collar," and socioeconomic themes play big in the rhymes coming from this project. Blue Scholars has been awarded many hip hop accolades, including several from Seattle Weekly's Music Awards Poll. These guys have shared the stage with some top-drawer talent, too, such as Slick Rick, Kanye West, De La Soul, and others. Bambu and Grynch will also be in the house tonight.
