THEATRE | BUZZ Festival
The BUZZ Festival isn't your average theatre festival. As an audience member at this tri-annual event, the audience plays a large role in theatrical works still in development. Artists present a short portion of a play they are working on and a live band will take the stage while viewers write down advice and answer some questions that the artist has asked about their work. Aligning the playwright with the audience, the viewer is given the complete ability to mould the story. Opening this evening with work from Bruce Hunter and musical performances by Chris Bezant, the festival continues until Saturday.

FILM | International Diaspora Film Festival
With a theme that emphasizes the social, political and cultural changes of the past year and a mix of genres of films, ranging from comedy to documentary, the International Diaspora Film Festival makes its return at Innis Town Hall this evening for its 11th annual year. Beginning tonight with a talk with filmmaker Deepa Mehta and a screening of her film Bollywood Hollywood, the event will take place in theatres and halls across the city, with films from all over the world. The festival closes November 6th.

DANCE | Orpheus and Eurydice
In a lurid and racy interpretation of the myth of musician Orpheus, who chases his love Eurydice after she has been dragged into the Underworld, Quebecois dancer Marie Chouinard's choreography and direction comes to life. The dance piece opens this evening with music by Louis Dufort and dialogue from philosopher Giorgio Agamben's "Profanations" with performances by Valeria Galluci and Leon Kupferschmid. With nudity and sexuality, Canadian Stage has designated this a 16+ performance. The show runs until November 5th.

MEDIA | On Site Magazine Launch + Re-Launch Party
On Site is a print magazine based in Calgary that releases publications bi-annually covering architecture, landscape, urban planning and infrastructure. Tonight, the magazine celebrates the launch of its latest issue, "Dirt." The contributors, which mostly consist of young professionals and students, will speak about their pieces in the issue before the soirĂŠe begins. Back issues will be available and drinks will be served.
