TECH | AndroidTO
Android TO 2011 has landed! Last year was the first edition of this fest, and it was such a success that it has returned to bring you more tech-riffic goodness! Today's conference is the place to be for all enthusiastic Android users and developers alike. There will be tons of lectures to choose from, and many will feature pioneering and cutting edge developers. There will also be a "networking lunch," plus a raffle, and more opportunities to schmooze at the "Harthfest afterparty"!
99 Sudbury (99 Sudbury Street) 8AM $149 / $99 students

FILM | Sharkwater
This will be Walnut Studios' inaugural screening in what promises to be a series that offers an opportunity for different sectors of the Toronto arts community to come together to discuss their work. Tonight's film, Sharkwater will be a great opportunity for such a discussion, particular given city council's vote yesterday to ban shark fin products. This film, from director Rob Stewart, explores the shark's significance in ecological and evolutionary terms, and reveals it to be a crucial component in oceanographic life and the sustainability of our waters.
Walnut Studios Loft (83 Walnut Avenue) 6:30PM

BOOKS & LIT | Toronto Erotica Writers and Readers Meetup
Following on the smashing success of last month's meetup, it's happening again! Writers and readers of erotica will want to attend this discussion group, which will also cross over into a reading session with an open mic portion of the evening, and audio will be streaming live to share the goods! This a great chance to discuss the 'ins and outs' regarding writing about sex, and even if you are only a voracious reader, this will certainly help you appreciate what you are enjoying even more.
Tequila Bookworm (512 Queen Street West) 7PM $5

FUNDRAISER | Hidden Gems
The Toronto School of Art unleashes an aesthetically pleasing evening of fundraising tonight! This event, "Hidden Gems," is a chance to check out some great art and learn more about the goings-on at the TSA. An evening of entertainment is promised, complete with music, food and art. There will also be a silent auction of faculty-produced works, surprise giveaways, live music, digital projections, and more. All funds raised will go towards student supplies at the TSA.
