Kreayshawn, the latest in controversial rappers who is being dubbed a harder version of Ke$ha, makes her Canadian debut tonight as part of TIFF festivities. The Oakland rapper may have just two mixtapes under her belt but the release of the video for her song "Gucci Gucci" in May of this year has drawn considerable attention to the former music video director. Tickets to see the buzzed about Amy Winehouse look-a-like can only be bought in advance until 8PM tonight so snatch them up online before heading down to the party.

FESTIVAL | Cabbagetown Festival
Over by Parliament and down by Carlton, that little place known as Cabbagetown is celebrating their neighbourhood this weekend. Beginning this afternoon with the Cabbagetown Arts & Crafts Sale at Riverdale Park and continuing tonight with the Cabbagetown Short Film & Video Festival at the Winchester Street Dance Theatre (80 Winchester Street), there will be plenty of entertainment that explore the history and culture of this small pocket of the city. Highlights will include the Saturday morning parade down Parliament Street and tours of historic homes in the area.

ART | Sunnyside Beach Juried Art Show
Looking for something artsy to do this weekend? The historic Sunnyside Pavilion will be host to the Sunnyside Beach Juried Art Show, where artists from all disciplines will have their works on display both inside the pavilion and outdoors. Music, sculpture, paintings and installations will be on display and established artists like sculptor Wojtek Biczysko will run free children's drop-in workshops. Now in its 3rd year, the Sunnyside Beach Juried Art Show will happen rain or shine so make your way over to the sunny side of the Lake Shore.

FOOD | Toronto Vegetarian Food Festival
Possibly the largest meeting of herbivores (sorta) in North America, the 27th annual Toronto Vegetarian Food Festival returns this weekend with a showcase of 100 vendors and exhibitors that will present alternative eating choices. Cooking demos and presentations will teach non-meat eaters how to cook for a vegetarian and guest speakers will lecture on the nutritional benefits of a plant-based diet. Fear not, vegans, there will plenty of events at the festival for you, too, including vegan bodybuilders, bloggers and nutritionists. The festival runs until Sunday.

MUSIC | Zeus and Jason Collett
With the help of young bands who have been influential on the Toronto music scene, Yonge-Dundas Square is going indie this evening! Zeus, a pop rock band currently signed to the Arts & Crafts label, play the public square with music from the 2010 album Say Us. Jason Collett, Zeus' consistent show companion who is known for his role as a guitarist in Broken Social Scene, will follow by playing songs from his fifth album, Rat A Tat Tat. These Polaris Prize nominees perform for free this one-night only so spend the evening outdoors, gazing at the bright lights and relaxing to the unique sounds of Toronto musicians.
