ART | Intangibles
Three photographers join their works in an exhibition that explores the emotions and imagery that unite humanity but are intangible in nature. Robert Canali's Dust uses photographic materials to create abstract images of light and colour while S. Billie Mandle's Reconciliation explores the interiors of Catholic confessionals as spaces for experiencing and desiring a meeting with the transcendental. Wayne Dunkley's TransForm shows images of landscapes as they change and shift by the movement and breathing of the photographer himself. Opening tonight at Gallery 345, the exhibit runs until October 22nd and Canali and Dunkley will be present to engage attendees.

FILM | September CineMacabre: Director's Cut of Mimic
Rue Morgue Magazine continues their celebration of the CineMacabre this evening with a full screening of the director's cut of Guillermo del Toro's 1997 thriller Mimic. Starring Mira Sorvino, Jeremy Northam and Josh Brolin, the premise of the film sees genetically modified insects preying on humans in New York City by devouring them, which gives them the power to mimic them. Playing tonight only, the screening will feature special guests, prizes and a Q&A with members from the film crew.

DESIGN | New Forces in French Design: CĂŠdric Morisset
As part of a speaker series presented by OCAD and the Consulate General of France, French leaders in architecture and design come to Toronto to discuss their works and careers with audiences. Tonight, designer CĂŠdric Morisset will speak about his experiences as a curator for international design exhibits, as a writer and, most recently, as author of the book "Les 101 Mots du Design." The talk will be open to the public and free to attend.

MEDIA | Oh, It's Time For A Party!: OTM Zine Relaunch Celebration
Oh, it's time for a party! Off the Map digital magazine celebrates their 9th issue Fall 2011: Beyond and the relaunch of their website with a party at Camp 4 tonight. Editors Tara Bartolini and Aimee Legault invite Torontonians out to celebrate their growing publication that tracks the careers of up-and-coming local musicians, artists, filmmakers and bloggers who are making their mark in the Toronto arts community. The party will include a set by Camembert Electrique and lots of drinks at the laid-back Dundas West bar.

ART | Question, Answer and the Chaos in Between: Metamorphic Numerals
A hands-on exhibit that explores math through the arts, Question, Answer and the Chaos in Between uses clay spheres to form numeral symbols and represent arithmetic in 3D form. Artist Mark Jaroszewicz uses craft to help understand how math is used in the world and how it can be learned through different thinking methods. The exhibit opens tonight with a reception at 6PM and the Ontario Crafts Council will offer free children's workshops and Q&A sessions with the artist at later dates for the Culture Days festival.
