Radar: Zach Deputy, Epic Journey, Confessions Of An Innocent Man, Erik Jorgensen, Swollen Members

MUSIC | Zach Deputy
Tonight, singer/songwriter Zach Deputy touches down at The El Mocambo. This guy is a hard working musician who is constantly on the road, and has earned quite a reputation for his live shows. Big with the jamband crowd, he is known to turn any gig into a dance party, and even more amazingly, he does so as a 'one man show' with looping pedals, an acoustic guitar, and a strong set of pipes! He has a new release out, "Another Day", and like many from the jamband scene, the album and the live show have little in common. In this case however, the artist has done so deliberately, to explore another musical direction, hence the title of the release. Special guest Sam Klass opens the show.
El Mocambo (464 Spadina Avenue) 8PM $15

FILM | A special 11.5 hour screening of Kevin Schmidt's "Epic Journey"
An epic film screening of "Epic Journey" begins this morning! This Kevin Schmidt feature boasts a length of 11.5 hours - even Andy Warhol would raise an eyebrow! Speaking of Warhol, Schmidt is also a film maker with a background in Art, and this film is comprised of a single 'long take' - which means that this was created in a single, uninterrupted and unedited shot, much like many multi-hour Warhol art films. There's also another dimension at work here: Peter Jackson's "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy is being screened within the film in its entirety. Test your cinematic stamina, and take part in this experience! It's free, and snacks will be provided.

FILM | Free Favourites at Four presents Confessions of an Innocent Man
Oscar nominated director, David Paperny's film "Confessions of an Innocent Man" tells the story of William Sampson's three long years in a Saudi jail, enduring torture for a crime he never committed. While disturbing, this story shows the power and endurance of the human spirit, and possibly raises questions about Western forgeign policy and human rights. Check out this thought provoking film this afternoon - for free!

MUSIC | TWM: Erik Jorgensen, Trevor James (solo), Gibson Walker
Wednesdays at Rancho Relaxo are great for checking out up and coming independent bands and artists, and tonight is no exception. Trevor James, recently relocated to TO from Montreal, has arrived before the rest of his band, The Perfect Gentlemen, and takes the stage tonight to deliver a solo set. Another ear-catching set will come from Gibson Walker, whose "experimental indie-pop" will get you where it counts. Songwriter Erik Jorgensen closes off the evening.
Rancho Relaxo (300 College) 8:30PM $5
