MUSIC | Busta Rhymes + Ace Hood
One of hip hop's true legends hits town tonight - Busta Rhymes plays the Sound Academy! The nine-time Grammy winner is known for his ability to rap at breakneck speed. He got his start at the age of 19 in the Long Island, NY-based hip hop group, Leaders Of The New School, and busted out on his own with his hit "Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check" from his album "The Coming", which went platinum. Florida rapper Ace Hood, whose break came after connecting with DJ Khaled, is also on the bill tonight.

MUSIC | "The Reason For Hope" CD Release
"The Reason For Hope" is a CD featuring a nice selection of musical talent hailing from Eastern Canada, and the launch is tonight at The Horseshoe. The goal behind this release is to raise both awareness about Metastatic Breast Cancer, and funds towards research for a cure. A great lineup of musicians will be performing, including: Crush Luther, The Danger Bees, Morning Thieves, Mary Stewart, and Robyn Dell'Unto. Donations will be accepted, and a silent auction will be held, plus there will be other fun stuff like a photo booth, a kissing booth, bake sale, and more. Come out and hear some great tunes, and support an important cause!

FILM | From Page to Screen Film Festival
This evening, another amazing double bill in the "From Page to Screen" series, which features some of the best film adaptations of literary works, is presented by the Toronto Film Society. Tonight, The Furies, directed by Anthony Mann, and based on Niven Busch's work of the same name, is our first feature. This is a tale of power, revenge, and a destroyed father-daughter bond. It is also the great Walter Huston's (father of John Huston) last film, and also stars Barbara Stanwyck. The second feature, The Virginian, also stars Huston, along with screen legend Gary Cooper. This film, an early portrait of life in the "Wild West" is based on Owen Wister's novel of the same name, and was directed by Victor Fleming. This is definitely a double feature for those who love Westerns from Hollywood's Golden Age.

CULTURE | Mercado Flamenco
A "flamenco market" will come together at Kensington Market's Bread and Circus tonight. Flamenco is a form of both music and dance, Spanish in origin, and credited to have been influenced by the Andalusian gypsies. The dramatic and virtuosic style of guitar playing is well-known in popular culture. The Flamenco dance tradition is also known for its drama, hand clapping, and foot stomping. This evening's Mercado Flamenco will give you a chance to check out (and purchase, if you are so inclined) the fashion associated with this musical culture, including dresses, castanets, flamenco shoes.... and even Flamenco cupcakes! This event has been put together by the Carmen Romero School Of Flamenco Dance Arts, and an hour-long performance will be the centerpiece of this event.
