MUSIC | Elizabeth Shepherd at Nathan Philips Square
Toronto's Elizabeth Shepherd has been wowing audiences worldwide with her intimate and hip take on the jazz vocal/piano trio thing. Her use of rhodes-like keyboard tones, gives her group's sound a modern edge. Her own original compositions, intriguing lyrics, and very personal approach all draw the listener right in. She was acknowledged by the BBC as being an artist to check back in 2006, and has been nominated for several Junos. Did I mention she's huge in Japan? Come see and hear for yourself this afternoon.

ART | Lecture with Christopher Eamon
Guest curator Christopher Eamon will give a special talk this evening at The Power Plant in conjunction with his exhibition, "Rearview Mirror", running currently at the gallery. "Rearview Mirror" is an exhibition focussed on presenting a new "post-socialist" generation of Eastern Euopean art to the West, and breaking down preconceived notions of the East as a distinct entity. Stereotypes are tested, and interesting connections between East and West are drawn. This will be a great opportunity to get an 'inside scoop' on this exhibit.

MUSIC | TWM: Sheep Man, Touma, Czars, Le Look (ex Local Rabbits) @ Rancho
Another exciting Wednesday lineup of music at Rancho Relaxo. Le Look, a poppy, electro two piece start the night off, followed by Czars, a stylistically diverse local group that can be aggressive, spacey, electronic and guitar driven. Also on the bill are Touma and Sheep Man, both from Montreal, and both with an original sound.

FILM | Docs at Dusk - The End of Suburbia
What could be sweeter than a rootop patio, some cold beverages, and a film? Not much really. Tonight, the London Tap House will be holding their July film night on their rooftop, and screening Gregory Greene's "The End Of Suburbia". This film deals with the issues of environment, sustainabiity, and how changing from society's current fossil-fuel based strategy will have an impact. The film begins at 9pm, following a panel discussion with the director, which starts at 8pm.
