MUSIC | Plastician @ Wrongbar
Plastician (aka Chris Reed) is an English DJ who is well known for his unique sound, having pioneered a blend of two different London scenes: East London grime, and South London dubstep. Somehow this guy is able to find the time to tour non-stop, while maintaining a BBC Radio One residency, running his own label, and continuing to be at the top of his game! He hits Wrongbar tonight for what will certainly be a well-attended show.

FUNDRAISER | The Darned & Money and a Bike at the Velodrome Variety Show
Music comes to the rescue so often, but it's always great to see the world of Music lending a helping hand to the world of Theatre. Tonight at Clinton's, an event titled, "The Velodrome Variety Show" goes down, and biking and the concept of 'cycle' dominates. Headlining band Money And A Bike take the stage (along with openers The Darned), and funds go to help the production of "Finally: An Epic Cycle", which will premiere at this Summer's Toronto Fringe Festival, directed by Joanne Williams, and written by Sarah Cody. Vinyl will be spinning from midnight onwards, as well.

MUSIC | Hollis & the Widows, Beautiful Women of Belmez, Danger Dean, Greg Preston
Another awesome Wednesday night of music at Rancho Relaxo! Opening the show is the Hamilton-based Greg Preston and The Great Machine, a electric blues/folk band that promises to make an impression. Also on the bill are Danger Dean, a side project of Dan Jardine's (drummer for Different Skeletons), and Beautiful Women of Belmez, a theatrical rock outfit from St. Catherines. Closing out the night is Hollis and the Widows. Should be fun!

LITERATURE | Authors at Harbourfront Centre: Julie Booker, Ken Greenberg, Merilyn Simonds
The very popular "Authors at Harbourfront Centre" reading series continues this week with a great lineup. Julie Booker will be reading from her first book "Up Up Up", a quirky take on life's disappointments, body awareness, and even more insight about human nature. A taste of non-fiction will be provided by our two remaining authors for tonight: Ken Greenberg will share some of his book "Walking Home: The Life and Lessons of a City Builder". In this book, Greenberg discusses not only the role of the urban planner, but also how the view of 'cities' has changed in popular culture over the last several decades from an urban zone of decay and corruption, to a 'positive' place to live and work. Award-winning journalist and non-fiction writer Merilyn Simonds will read from her memoirs, "A New Leaf", which discusses her passion for gardening and landscapes - a very Canadian literary theme, and Margaret Atwood has given her book big props, too.
