LITERATURE | CBC's Melissa Fung: Under An Afghan Sky
Tonight, the CBC's Melissa Fung will join colleague Anna Maria Tremonti in a discussion about her experiences in Afghanistan, including, of course, her kidnapping, which is the central subject of her memoir, "Under an Afghan Sky." There will be a cash bar before the event, and Q & A and book signing following the discussion.

MUSIC | Manchester Orchestra
Tonight, TO welcomes indie-rockers Manchester Orchestra to town. Despite the name, these guys hail from Atlanta, Georgia, and are touring the recent release of their "Simple Math" album. Opening for them tonight is the Australian duo, An Horse, who have gained a strong following over the years, opening for Teagan and Sara and Death Cab for Cutie.

LITERATURE | Hometown Glory
This special event at The Central tonight brings together four female poets of diverse backgrounds who all call Toronto home. Making up this lineup of spoken word artists is Amanda Hiebert, one of the founding members of the Toronto Poetry Project, poetry slammer Lara Bozabalian, Jillian Christmas of Chocolate Fountain, and Alessandra Nacarato, two-time bronze medal winner at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word.
