MUSIC | Sleigh Bells and CSS
Hitting the Sound Academy tonight is American noise pop duo Sleigh Bells along with Brazilian band Cansei de Ser Sexy as part of their joint North American tour. Sleigh Bells is touring their popular debut album Treats, which has garnered the duo a great deal of attention since appearing in several commercials (an experience eerily similar to CSS's "Music is My Hot Hot Sex" from their 2007 self-titled debut album). Opening the show is the Vancouver electronica duo Data Romance and L.A. indie pop band Princeton.

ART | "Guy Tillim: Avenue Patrice Lumumba" Exhibition Tour with Kenneth Montague
A former photojournalist who spent years documenting the struggles in African countries, artist Guy Tillim's exhibition features 55 images that attest to the legacy of Patrice Lumumba, the first Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This evening, Kenneth Montague, director of Wedge Curatorial Projects, will conduct an informative tour of the South African artist's exhibit, which will be followed by a viewing of Raoul Peck's 2000 film Lumumba, about the political success and assassination of Patrice Lumumba. A part of the CONTACT Photography Festival, Tillim's exhibit explores African landscapes during times of transition and the impact of Lumumba's political efforts that continue to be honoured in these countries still today.

ART | The Autists
The Geneva Centre for Autism Foundation presents the annual Autists gala to celebrate autistic artists and support the arts education of those diagnosed with the disease. Explore the links between the arts and autism, the evening will feature performances by talented autistic musicians and a live art auction, featuring the works of Canadian and international artists, including William S. Burroughs, David Blackwood and Ed Bartram. Philanthropists, art dealers and collectors will be present for the auction and if last year's event was any indication, the bidding wars will be quite the intense show in and of itself.

ENVIRONMENT | Innovation Camp 2011
The idea of "going green" has been used and abused in Toronto these past few years so if you're an innovator, entrepreneur or just an ideas person interested in learning about genuine green business practices, this all-day event is for you. Organized by Enterprise Toronto, Innovation Camp 2011 is part trade show and part seminar, designed to help small business owners learn how to make an impact on the earth and their communities through their operations. Panelists and seminar leaders will discuss environmentally friendly, low-impact options for every type of business and the Dr. Ron Dembo, Founder of Zerofootprint Software, will give the keynote address.

MUSIC | XENOfranka Audio/Visual Extravaganza
Indie musicians unite at The Free Times CafĂŠ, where artists have been coming for years to promote and nurture their creativity in front of welcoming crowds. Tonight will feature a roster of laid-back, jazz-inspired performances. Seasoned Canadian jazz performer Juliann Kuchocki will open for London, Ontario native Jen Frankel, a powerful soulful singer, who will be accompanied by Edmonton's Caley Kelly on guitar. A sultry evening of soul music, the artists will perform music from their own independent albums as well as covers of popular classics.
