MUSIC | Glen Matlock (of Sex Pistols) & The Philistines + The Walnut Kids
If there could possibly be any truth to the old rumour that "Punk is Dead", then it's been resurrected tonight for former Sex Pistols' bassist, Glen Matlock's appearance at the Bovine with his band The Philistines. Matlock was in the original Sex Pistols lineup, and is credited with co-writing much of their early material. Also on the bill tonight are The Walnut Kids from Montreal, and New York Junk.
Bovine Sex Club (542 Queen Street West) 9PM $10

FILM | Film Buffet
The Toronto Film Society has another great vintage double-bill tonight. Carmen Miranda, the Brazillian musical-icon (now enjoying cult status) stars in both of this eve's featured flicks. Walter Lang's 1941 Latin-tinged musical "Weekend In Havana" will be screened alongside "Springtime In The Rockies". Get ready to Rhumba in your seat!
Innis Town Hall (2 Sussex Ave.) 7:30PM $15

MUSIC | Bullying Awareness Benefit for Kids' Help Phone @ Supermarket
Even though last week was officially "Bullying Awareness Week", Mandippal Jandu has unofficially declared today to be "Bullying Awareness Day". This singer/songwriter claims to have a personal stake in this cause, and tonight's very musical fundraiser at The Supermarket will deliver an abundance of Toronto talent, each act performing two songs, with all proceeds going to Kids' Help Phone. Performers include: Andrew Austin, The Pigott Brothers, Darrelle London, Robyn Dell'Unto, and many more.
The Supermarket (268 Augusta Avenue) 7PM $5

COMEDY | Clash of the Comedians
Join seven great comics, as they share new material they've been diligently prepping, just for you, based on three fresh topics handed to them earlier this week. Mark Forward will be the judge, and declare a winner at the end of this battle royal.
Comedy Bar (945 Bloor Street West) 9PM $5

MUSIC | Sisters Euclid @ Hugh's Room
The Sisters Euclid are back! After a brief hiatus from their Monday night Orbit Room residency, Toronto's instrumental supergroup hits the stage tonight at a different venue. This dynamic and versatile band is made up of some of T-Dot's hottest players, and they love to stretch out and take things to new places in a fashion that is all their own. If musical adventure, humour, and groove are high on your list of priorities, you know where you should be tonight.
Hugh's Room (2261 Dundas Street West) 8:30PM $20
