COMEDY | Tuesday Night Special
There's a new kid in comedy town, The Drake Hotel's Tuesday Night Special, an evening full of stand-up, sketches and more. Featuring the humour of Comedy Network/Just For Laughs veterans, it is not just any other comedy show. As if this isn't reason enough to head west on Queen, the event's pièce de rÊsistance is its host - legendary ex-Edge radio personality, Barry Taylor. If Christmas shopping and the malls are bringing you down, there's no cure like a little L.O.L.

MUSIC | Colorblind Brian's Blues Campfire
With winter upon us, it's not surprising to miss those midsummer nights jamming around the fire with close friends. Similar in concept, albeit without the temperate weather is Colorblind Brian's Blues Campfire, held every third Tuesday at The Gladstone Hotel. The idea is simple: grab a chair, pass around Brian Blain's Precision Bass and when it gets to you, you strum out something bluesy. Brian's Blues Campfire has been a popular event at the Blues Summit, The Winterfolk Festival and more. It is a gathering of friends and strangers, coming together with love for music in mind.

SHOPPING | Holiday Market
Hub 14 is a "collectively run research and performance space" that prides itself on developing forward-thinking performance artists in dance, theatre and other interdisciplinary practices. If you've left your Christmas shopping until the 11th hour, Hub 14 might just be the perfect place to find that perfect gift. Their Holiday Market will feature an assortment of hand-made and vintage pieces so the odds of finding something for the pickiest person on your list will be in your favour. Cross off Aunt Dotty and support local arts while you're at it.

MUSIC | The Luyas special show at Double Double Land Make Toronto Musiquer
Never let the the size of the venue dictate the merit of the band otherwise you could miss out on some seriously awesome shows. Case in point, Montreal-based band, The Luyas playing tonight in Double Double Land in Kensington Market. These guys are nothing to sneeze at and are playing an intimate show for the lucky few to brave the cold weather. They upcoming release is slated for early 2011 and will feature Owen Pallett on violin. In the past and presently, band members are a part of such other projects as Miracle Fortress, Bell Orchestre and Pietro Amato was once a horn player with fellow Montrealers, Arcade Fire. No big deal.
