MUSIC | The Schomberg Fair & Big John Bates and the Voodoo Dollz
There's an awesome lineup at The Garrison tonight to launch The Schomberg Fair's cross-Canada tour with Big John Bates and The Voodoo Dollz (White Cowbell Oklahoma will also be on this tour, but not on the bill tonight). Presented by Exclaim!*@#, Jagermeister, and UO Booking Agency (who represent all of the bands involved), this promises to be an rowdy sendoff! The Garrison (1197 Dundas St.) 9PM $10

HEALTH | Yoga for Peace
The Yoga For Peace movement calls on the global Yoga Community to bring peace to the world, beginning within. Although National Yoga Month was September, the YMCA of Greater Toronto is holding their own Yoga Mala for Peace events both this afternoon and this evening at two different YMCA locations. Beginners are welcome. Metro Central YMCA (20 Grosvenor St) 6PM FREE

MUSIC | Open Door Festival Of Music
The Red Door Family Shelter has been providing emergency assistance to families and individuals since 1982, and tonight's 10th Annual Open Door Festival of Music will donate all proceeds to this important Toronto source of help and housing. This evening's lineup includes Ron Sexsmith, Kinnie Star, and many more. The Mod Club (722 College St) 6:30PM $21

COMEDY | The Second City's Dysfunctional Holiday Review
Holiday season for most of us means seeing more of our family than usual. Therefore the word "dysfunctional" is probably top of mind at this time of year, and appropriately, the zany folks at Second City have included this term in the title of their holiday performances which will feature their special brand of improv, music and more. This afternoon marks the beginning of the matinee performances of this special winter show. The Second City (51 Mercer Street) 1PM $20

MUSIC | Chris Assad - A Special Hometown Show
Fans of singer/songwriter Chris Assad welcome him tonight at a special hometown gig with a full band before he leaves on tour once again, this time headed "down under" to perform a string of Australian dates, including an appearance at the cutting-edge Peats Ridge "Sustainable" Music Festival. Opener Marta Pacek gets the ball rolling at this early show. The Drake Hotel (1150 Queen Street W) 8PM $10
