Having closed his chapter on punk rock as former lead singer of American band Avail, Tim Barry has gotten in touch with his softer side, making a name for himself as a folk musician. His music may be balmier these days but this doesn't mean it's any less powerful. Barry's sound may be more melodic and catchy but he is still praised for his high energy live shows that will leave you tapping your foot and wanting more. Opening for him will be Newmarket's Cavaliers! and Regina's Northcote.

If your ability to quote any Simpsons episode or do a Mr. Flanders impression falls flat with friends or the girl you are trying to impress, then this event is for you. The Gladstone's Simpsons trivia night will test your knowledge on all eleven seasons while you sit and enjoy three classic episodes. This may be the only venue where verbalizing every word is considered socially acceptable. Your Simpsons acumen could even win you some cool prizes. Bonus.

COMEDY I Wham City: A Night of Comedy
Wham City, an eclectic group of independent artists joined together over their common affection for comedy will be in Kensington tonight at Double Double Land. They are trekking all the way up here for their only Canadian stop on tour because they love us so much and because our love is reciprocated threefold. It will be a night packed with the unexpected that is sure to have you in stitches. Where else can you experience a bill full of stand-up, solo plays, music and comedic sparring? The Wham City crewmates are chameleons of the stage with one constant, to make you pee your pants. Only six bucks, spare trousers not included.

MUSIC I Iceland Airwaves Toronto w/ Retro Stefson, Lay Low, Lindy, Sigrun Stella
From its inaugural show, held in an airplane hangar in 1999, Iceland Airwaves has grown to be one of the most buzzed about new music festivals around the world. Some of music's greatest rising stars have come together on this stage: Florence & the Machine, Hot Chip and Wolf Parade to name a few, artists who are now too hot to handle. For one night only, The Garrison transforms into ReykjavĂ­k, Iceland to give us more frugal folk a taste of this one-of-a-kind festival.
