Radar: This is Not a Reading Series w/ Jacob Wren, Weekend Leisure Karaoke, Elvis Monday, Atari Teenage Riot, Monday Meetings

BOOKS & LIT | This is Not a Reading Series w/ Jacob Wren
In their tradition of having readings that are totally unlike any others out there, or even ones in their series, the This is Not a Reading Series is back again with a book by Jacob Wren. Revenge Fantasies of the Politically Dispossessed is his new work and instead of a traditional interview, he's trying something different. He has assembled a group of people to do a 'relay interview' where each person answers a question before asking the next person a question. I don't really get it, but we'll see. If that doesn't sound like or thing -- or if it's a little to late for reading -- David Miller is also reading from Witness to a City at the Gladstone Hotel. Doors for Miller's reading are 5:30, with a $5 cover charge.
The Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen St W, $5, 9:30pm

PARTY | Weekend Leisure Karaoke
It's not often a karaoke group is so great that they go on tour, but that's the case with Vancouver's Weekend Leisure. Aside from hosting karaoke, Weekend Leisure are also a comedy group with some pretty funny stuff on their YouTube page. They also bring over 7000 songs to their karaoke shows, so you have no excuse not to sing at least one.
Parts & Labour, 1566 Queen St W, Free, 9pm

MUSIC | Elvis Monday
I would love it if this was an weekly Elvis convention, but unfortunately we're not that lucky. Elvis Monday is a weekly new music showcase held at The Drake that boasts having acts like Three Days Grace, Sum 41, and Pilate play it before they got big. Who doesn't want to see the next Three Days Grace, am I right?!?
The Drake Hotel, 1150 Queen St W, Free, 9pm

MUSIC | Atari Teenage Riot
They haven't made a new album in eleven years, but German digital hardcore, anarchist group Atari Teenage Riot are doing a reunion tour. I'll be honest, I know zero about this band but their description sounds pretty cool and if their doing a reunion tour, it must be for a reason... Right? Local band, Autoerotique, open.
The Pheonix Concert Theatre, 410 Sherbourne St, $20, 7pm

PARTY | Monday Meetings
Who says you can't party on a Monday? The Social doesn't seem to care as it's weekly Monday Meetings is back with Gooffee, Tapedeckbros, and Paratroupe. To draw in the crowd, they have Monday drink specials all night including bottle service for only $100 dollars, because who doesn't have that kind of money to spend??
The Social, 1100 Queen St W, $5, 10pm
