Radar: Greed w/ Do Make Say Think, Stuart McLean at Harbourfront Centre, Comedy at the Ossington, Starlight Burlesque, Superdad Launch Party

FILM | Greed w/ Do Make Say Think
Most people aren't particularly interested in going to see silent movies because they're generally boring. But, there's always exceptions -- like when local post-rock group Do Make Say Think scores the film live. Last summer the band, along with Owen Pallett, scored the silent film Tales of the Uncanny and it was fantastic, so I have reason to believe this will be too. Plus you if you haven't checked out the TIFF Bell Lightbox yet, it's about time!
TIFF Bell Lightbox, 350 King St W, $12, 8pm

BOOKS & LIT | Stuart McLean at The Harbourfront Centre
One of the top hosts on CBC Radio One will be at the Harbourfront Centre with his new book tonight. Stuart McLean hosts The Vinyl Cafe, a show of hilarious and touching short stories. These stories can also be found in his many books, the latest being The Vinyl Cafe Notebooks. Trust me, when you hear his voice, you'll automatically be transported back to long car rides with CBC Radio.
Harbourfront Centre, 250 Queens Quay West, $10, 7:30pm

COMEDY | Comedy at the Ossington
One of the best comedy shows in the city is back as usual for the first Wednesday of the month. Located in the back room of The Ossington, the aptly titled Comedy at the Ossington boasts a great lineup featuring Rhiannon Archer, Mack Lawrenz and Alana Johnson plus your hosts Sara Hennessey, Jeremy Mersereau and Steph Kaliner. And, as usual, there will be surprise guests, which could be YOU if you want it to be!
The Ossington, 61 Ossington Ave, PWYC, 9pm

DANCE | Starlight Burlesque
You can't go to strip clubs unless it's your greasy friends birthday or you're super lonely, but you can go see burlesque anytime you want and that just makes you cultured. Starlight Burlesque is hosting another show at Clintons with Sweet LillyBee. I don't really know what makes it different than other burlesque acts. You could Google it but really I think the most fun way to do this is to just go and see with your own two eyes.
Clinton's Tavern, 693 Bloor St W, $15, 8pm

BOOKS & LIT | Superdad Launch Party
When it comes to parenting, Dr. Phil has written million of pages about how to raise your kids to act like his creepy, perfect offspring. A more realistic parenting book is Superdad: A Memoir of Rebellion, Drugs & Fatherhood by Christopher Shulgan, and it just so happens the launch party is tonight at Wrongbar. There will be a 15 question debate featuring the author vs. Rebecca Brown, which'll be just a good ol' time.
Wrongbar, 1279 Queen St W, Free, 6pm
