TALK SHOW | Late Night in the Bedroom
Toronto's favourite web-based talk show returns tonight with its eighth episode. For the past year Late Night in the Bedroom has been blazing a trail in the age of internet television, shacking up at a different alternative venue every month to showcase some of the city's freshest young artists, musicians, and movers and shakers. Come down to the Whippersnapper Gallery tonight to be part of their live studio audience and catch a set from the Hooded Fang and interviews with fashion designer Heidi Ackerman, playwrights Evan Webber and Frank Cox O'Connell, the Beautiful City Billboard campaign's Devon Ostrom, and comedian Rob Hawke. GALLERY | She Was Full of Moonlight
The loss of a loved one is always cause for grief, and yet so often the trauma of such an event spurs artists to seek catharsis in creation. Veteran artist Ron Giii's new show She Was Full of Moonlight is dedicated to his mother June Gillespie, who passed away last year. The collection of performance-inspired paper drawings are meditations on the loss of the body and the profound love of the artist for his subject. Remarkably beautiful, Giii's gold-hued shadow figures rest on black backgrounds, embodying both immense suffering and adoring compassion, The show is only the latest exhibition of the extensive talent of 66-year old Giii, whose work is on display in the permanent collections of galleries all over the world including the AGO and the National Gallery of Canada. Runs til March 14, with an opening reception on March 6.

BOOKS AND LIT | Authors at Harbourfront: John Banville
Irish author John Banville first made a name for himself in the 1970s with a loose trilogy of books about the forefathers of modern science. The private life of Copernicus may not seem like fodder for great drama, but in the hands of Banville the seemingly stuffy scientists came alive. He's gone on to write novels at an astounding pace, serving as the literary editor of the Irish Times since 1989 and winning the Man Booker prize for his 2005 book The Sea. A true giant of contemporary Irish literature, Banville comes to the Harbourfront Centre tonight to read from his new novel the Infinities, an ode to a dying mathematician, and discuss his work with Canadian writer and critic Antanas Sileika.

SPORTS | Table Hockey Social
With the city still on a high from Sunday's dramatic gold medal hockey game and with little glory in sight for our beloved Maple Leafs, the Imperial Pub's Table Hockey Social might be the only way to get some pleasure out of our national game in the next little while. The charmingly grubby Yonge & Dundas area bar has on loan, for one night only, an impressive collection of vintage table hockey games, with teams dating all the way back to the now defunct Atlanta Flames, Hartford Whalers, Winnipeg Jets, and even the long-forgotten Oakland Seals (whose uniforms are among the coolest of all time). Definitely a hockey nerd's dream.

MUSIC | Synthfest #2: These Electric Lives, Deadlines, pH and Alphabot
Gone are the days when synthesizers were considered the cheesiest of instruments. These days a Micro Korg is your ticket to you a hip sound, and keytars have replaced the Fender Strat as the cool kids' weapon of choice. Hence the popularity of the Synthfest concert series, which returns to Toronto tonight to take up residence at the Boat. Headliners These Electric Lives will continue their assault on the city's music scene with a high energy set, while Deadlines celebrates the release of his new Prophecies EP with a late night dj set. Ottawa's pH and local one-man electronic band Alphabot open.
