THEATRE | The Movement Project presents: How We Forgot Here
Torontonians are proud of our city's ethnic diversity, and rightfully so. But how much do we really know about the journeys that brought so many people to settle here? How We Forgot Here, a new play by the Movement Project collective, takes you on board the fictional indigenous-run Eagle Airlines to examine how we got here andwhat we've forgotten along the way, and unearth some of the immingrant stories that have been silenced over years. Utilizing visual projections, live music, spoken word poetry, film and theatre, the production mimics the multitude of voices found in on our city's streets. Runs til Sunday.

MUSIC | Unique Lives and Experiences: Buffy Sainte-Marie
Although generally considered one of Canada's national treasures, Buffy Sainte-Marie is not one of our most visible superstars. That's not so surprising, as she's been living on a goat farm in Hawaii for 43 years. But after a decade spent out of the limelight, Sainte-Marie returned last year with a new record and the 62-year old has been touring again. A visual artist as well as musician (not to mention goat farmer), her songs have been performed by the likes of Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond, and Sainte-Marie even won an Oscar in 1982. She comes to Toronto tonight as part of the Unique Lives and Experiences lecture series to tell stories of her remarkable life, which took her from a Saskatchewan reservation to the ground zero 60's culture in New York City and later to stages and airwaves all over the world.

BOOKS AND LIT | Joe Hill
Having a famous father can be a blessing or a curse, especially if you try to follow in his footsteps. Just ask Jacob Dylan or Julian Lennon. Joe Hill (full name Joseph Hill King) writes comic books and horror novels, a trade he learned from his father Stephen, who happens to be the bestselling horror writer of all time. It's a pretty safe bet Joe will never be as successful as his old man (and no doubt bloggers without anything interesting to say about him will continue to point this out), but he's won a slew of awards for his writing and his career is still young so there's every reason to believe he'll be spinning high-quality yarns for decades to come. He'll be at the Merril Collection of Science Fiction, Speculation and Fantasy tonight on the last stop of his book tour for his latest novel Horns.

FOOD | Monday Night's Food for Thought: Get 86'd with Ivy Knight
The Drake's weekly night of food fun returns tonight for another edition. You never know quite what to expect on Monday Night's Food for Thought, but past instalments have included everything from cook-offs, to table-setting competitions and participatory food art. Chef and food writer Ivy Knight will be your host, and if you'd rather sit back and enjoy the show than get yourself elbow deep in a potato salad sculpture, the Drake is promising cheap pints (warning: the Drake's idea of "cheap" might differ from your own).
