New charges for woman who faked cancer

Ashley Kirilow, the 23-year-old who pretended to have cancer and is accused of scamming thousands of dollars through a bogus charity, now faces new charges before heading to court for a scheduled plea date tomorrow.

Kirilow now faces a total of six counts of fraud under $5,000 and one count of fraud over $5,000. When the scandal unfolded back in August, police had charged Kirilow with three counts of fraud under $5,000, and later added the fraud over $5,000 charge.

Kirilow is accused of faking cancer to hold charity events to raise money for cancer, and allegedly pocketing the donations. She shaved her head, plucked her eyelashes and eyebrows and starved herself to resemble a chemotherapy patient. Kirilow is expected to plead guilty to all charges tomorrow.
