Viljo Revell to be honoured this month

Events celebrating the centenary of the birth City Hall architect, Viljo Revell (January 25), and the 45th anniversary of the official opening of City Hall (September 13) will be taking place this month.

From September 13 to 26, a six-part exhibition will be held featuring photographs of Revell's best-known architecture in Finland. It will also include an exhibit celebrating the original international design competition for City Hall, which took place in the late 1950s.

Former mayor David Crombie will be speaking on September 13, as well as Toronto-born architect Frank Gehry. More information is available on the City of Toronto Archives website.
