Inspection finds no bedbugs at Scotiabank theatre

After a scare yesterday that one of the downtown theatres for the Toronto International Film Festival may have bedbugs, Cineplex says a pest control company has given the all clear.

Cineplex hired Abell Pest Control Inc. to do an investigation at Scotiabank theatre after a movie-goer tweeted she believed she had been bitten by bedbugs after visiting the theatre. But an overnight search turned up nothing.

"After a thorough investigation overnight, which involved a specially trained sniffing dog and a secondary visual inspection, Abell has confirmed that there were no bed bugs located within the Scotiabank theatre," Cineplex said in a statement.

At least that one Toronto building scratched (excuse the pun) off the bedbug list.
