Sadly, Toronto's chances at a floating casino and red light district were slashed this morning as mayoral candidate Giorgio Mammoliti officially ended his bid.

"Perhaps the city isn't ready for a mayor like me," he said a restaurant news conference.

Mammoliti said he will run for re-election in Ward 7, take a vacation, and not immediately endorse another candidate. He did, however, introduce Rocco Achampong, the 31-year-old mayoral candidate, saying Achampong was not getting the attention he deserved.

Mammoliti said he decided to join the mayoral race six months ago because, "I love this city so much." Unfortunately, love wasn't enough to conquer the five top contenders.

The city is expected to go to hell as 13-year-olds carry on enjoying post-11 p.m. unconfined bliss, and cars continue to drive on the Gardiner Expressway.
