First Nations protesters and supporters marched in hundreds outside of Queen's Park today, calling for attention to native rights.

Some held signs that read, "Native rights, human rights" and "You can't breathe money." Many were waving flags.

Demonstrators say they want to bring attention to the issue of land claim and control, as well as the disappearance of some 500 aboriginal women.

"We have a lot of unresolved issues we need to see addressed domestically, without Stephen Harper talking about going overseas and dealing with development there," Russell Diabo, a Quebec Mohawk who is spokesman for Defenders of the Land, told the Canadian Press.

Protesters say the blockade of Highway 403 between Toronto and Hamilton that was planned for today has been cancelled.
