Toronto knitters attempt to break world record
We all know Toronto has a very active craft community and next month in the Junction a large group of knitters are going to try to prove it to the world. Apparently June 12th is Worldwide Knit in Public Day (WWKIP) and to mark the occasion three Toronto organizations are calling all expert and novice knitters in the city to take over the main square in the Junction to try to break the world record for the most knitters in one place at one time.
In a notice that arrived in my inbox this morning, the organizers write:
Novices and experts alike are invited to bring a lawn chair, some needles and yarn and to be part of history!!! There will be live entertainment, refreshments and prizes, as well as beginner knitting classes on the spot. The count for the world record will take place at 3 pm sharp.
