TUESDAY OCTOBER 25 / MUMFORD & SONS / AIR CANADA CENTRE / 40 BAY ST / $44.75 - $66.75 / ALL AGES
Since the 2009 release of their acclaimed debut album Sigh No More, Brit folk-rockers Mumford & Sons have taken their place amongst the elite bands currently recording music. They last played in Toronto in November 2010, at the Sound Academy - this time around, they'll be taking to the stage at the ACC, which just goes to show how much their popularity has skyrocketed in the last year. This has the potential to be one of the best concerts of 2011, and tickets are scarce.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 26 / THE SOUNDS / THE OPERA HOUSE / 735 QUEEN E / $22.50 / ALL AGES

Their sound has been compared to that of The Cars and Blondie, but there's no denying that Swedish new wave rockers The Sounds are unique. They released their fourth studio album, Something to Die For, earlier this year, and the title track was featured on the Scream 4 soundtrack. Lets take that for better over worse. The Midway State, Kids at the Bar and The Limousines are the openers.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 27 / KEVIN DEVINE AND THE GODDAMN BAND / THE DRAKE HOTEL / 1150 QUEEN W / $16.88 / 19+

Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Kevin Devine will be stopping by the Drake with his fantastically-named band for a night of tunes. 2011 saw him cover Nirvana's classic album Nevermind, which he made available as a free download on his website. He also released an album of original material, Between the Concrete and Clouds, so expect to hear some tunes off of that.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 28 / DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979 / SOUND ACADEMY / 11 POLSON / $36 / ALL AGES

The boys are back. The acclaimed Toronto-based duo comprised of Sebastian Grainger and Jesse F. Keeler released only one album, 2004's You're a Woman, I'm a Machine, before breaking up in 2006. Five years later, they've reformed, and if their past work is any indication, they might just take over the world. Trust and Nightbox will offer support.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 29 / MADEON / THE HOXTON / 69 BATHURST / $15 / 19+

I wasn't too familiar with Madeon's resume until very recently. A self-professed "remix artist," this young DJ from France has quickly made a name for himself with his unique style. He burst onto the scene by winning Pendulum's "The Island" remix competition, and his recent remix of deadmau5's "Raise Your Weapon" is proof that he's here to stay. deadmau5 and Skrillex have heaped praise upon him, so you know he must be for real.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 30 / BLITZEN TRAPPER & DAWES / THE OPERA HOUSE / 735 QUEEN E / $18.50/19+

Two great indie bands for under 20 bucks - no matter how you slice it, that's a great deal. Blitzen Trapper, from Portland, and Dawes, out of Los Angeles, will be teaming up for a night of folk rock and alt-country at the Opera House. Both bands have gained a substantial following on the indie scene - Rolling Stone has been a vocal supporter of both over the years. The Belle Brigade will over support.
