False Face - Lifeboat / Bad Coach / I Channel the Animals
Featuring PS I Love You's Paul Saulnier on drums, Kingston, Ontario's False Face has been a pretty well kept post-punk secret, maintaining relatively local in their scene up until now. Luckily for music fans, the group has decided to broaden their horizons and have taken their three-song cassette single, Lifeboat / Bad Coach / I Channel the Animals, and released it on their Bandcamp page for free download.

Shad & Skratch Bastid - "Give You All I Can"
Juno award winner Shadrach Kabango, aka Shad, was very gracious and grateful with his win for Rap Recording of the Year, offering up a blog post simply entitled "c/o Shad | Thank you." With it, came a brand new track featuring Maritimes DJ Skratch Bastid, who gives us some old school soul flavour to go along with Shad's unmistakeable rhymes. [MP3]

BlogTO Indie Exclusive: Rude Leaves - "The Fox & The Beggar"
Best known as the bass player for pop punk band Summerside, singer-songwriter Michael Wickens has stripped down and joined forces with Karen Scobie to create Rude Leaves, a lovely Folk outing with angelic harmonies and a style of storytelling that is comparable to a children's book. The duo will be playing live in Toronto at the Cameron House (408 Queen Street W.) this Saturday, April 9 alongside Zachary Aasman opening up for Pete Vandyk, as well as my band, Travis Caine & The Lasting Effect, as we finish up our Ontario Howlin' tour. Check them out this weekend and download their track, "The Fox & The Beggar," for free via Bandcamp. [MP3]
