WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 15 / THE DIRTY PROJECTORS / OPERA HOUSE / 735 QUEEN ST E / $24.50 / 19+
Having released seven full-length albums in seven years, the Dirty Projectors are a musical force to be reckoned with. In addition to an extensive back catalogue, the Brooklyn-based experimental art rock collective have collaborated with some renowned musicians in the past couple of years, most notably Bjork and David Byrne. Led by the enigmatic Dave Longstreth, the Dirty Projectors line-up has changed drastically over the years, and at one point included Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend. Head to the Opera house tonight to check out Longstreth and the rest of the current Dirty Projectors after an opening set from Vermont group Happy Birthday.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 16 / LAND OF TALK / LEE'S PALACE / 529 BLOOR ST W / $15 / 19+
Land of Talk's sophomore effort Cloak and Cipher was released just a few weeks ago to rave reviews, and they'll be showcasing their latest collection of songs at Lee's Palace on Thursday night. Fellow Montreal group Suuns (formerly known as Zeroes before a legal issue prompted a name change) are the lone opening act announced so far -- you can download their debut EP for free here, courtesy of their new label Secretly Canadian.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 17 / CARIBOU / PHOENIX / 410 SHERBOURNE ST / $16 / ALL AGES
Caribou mastermind Daniel Snaith kicks off a full tour of North and South America this week with a handful of dates across his home province of Southern Ontario. Having recently returned from appearances at a number of late-summer European festivals, Snaith has a few tricks up his sleeve for the opening leg of his tour including a beefed-up line-up that includes Jeremy Greenspan of the Junior Boys, as well as the four horn players involved in the creation of Caribou's latest album Swim. Joining Caribou for their Southern Ontario dates are The Russian Futurists, so get there early to catch Matt Hart and company deliver what's sure to be a tantalizing opening set.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 17 / PLANET CREATURE EP RELEASE PARTY / THE PISTON / 937 BLOOR ST W / $7 or $10 with EP / 19+
Planet Creature celebrate the release of their highly-anticipated debut EP with a party at The Piston on Friday night, where $10 will guarantee you a copy of the EP (which is being released by local psych label Optical Sounds) plus entry to see Planet Creature, Persian Rugs, Terror Lake and The Two Koreas tear it up on stage.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 18 / DAVID BAZAN / LEE'S PALACE / 529 BLOOR ST W / $12.50 / 19+
David Bazan is always on the road. He'll play anywhere there's a crowd willing to listen - from big band festival sets to small, solo house and club shows. He returns to Toronto this weekend, this time performing at Lee's with a full band including Blake Wescott on guitars, Andy Fitts on bass and Alex Westcoat behind the drum kit. Get there early to catch the opening set from Omaha's Mynabirds, an indie pop act formed by Laura Burhenn after the demise of her previous band Georgie James.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 19 / ANTI-FLAG / SNEAKY DEE'S / 431 COLLEGE ST / $19 / ALL AGES
Politically outspoken punk rock rebels Anti-Flag make their return to Toronto on Sunday night, bringing their gritty, chaotic and cathartic live show north of the border to share the stage with Buffalo's Lemuria and local punk act The Artist Life at the Mod Club Theatre Sneaky Dee's.

NOTE: Concert originally scheduled for the Mod Club, moved to Sneaky Dee's. All tickets from the original venue will be honoured at Dee's.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 21 / BILAL / REVIVAL / 793 COLLEGE ST / $30 / 19+
Manifesto 2010 kicks off on Monday the 21st, and the first major music event takes place this coming Tuesday night at Revival, where Philadelphia native Bilal will showcase his latest LP Airtight's Revenge with an exclusive 2-hour live performance, where he'll be joined by a full five-piece band. The evening will also feature performances from Slakah the Beatchild, Everything That's Fly and Ania Soul, with the Main Ingredient DJs spinning in between sets to keep the crowd moving.
