P4K-approved experimental indie-electronic artist DAN DEACON plays the Great Hall on November 4, joined by spastic experimental rockers NUCLEAR POWER PANTS. Deacon is a classically trained composer that serves up a high-energy mix of eclectic sounds using an array of keyboards, mixers and effects pedals. His live performances offer an up-and-close, sweat-soaked glimpse at his massive back-catalogue.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 6 / STEAM WHISTLE UNSIGNED SHOWCASE #12 / STEAM WHISTLE BREWERY / 255 BREMNER BLVD / $5 / 19+
Steam Whistle Brewery hosts the twelfth edition of their unsigned showcase, featuring some great local talent and culminating in a headline set from THE COAST. In support of his recently released 7" with KING KHAN, BLOODSHOT BILL will start things off right. GREAT BLOOMERS round out the line-up, with guest DJs spinning in between sets. 100% of proceeds from this dirt cheap show are donated to the Artists' Health Centre Foundation.

DAN AUERBACH steps aside from his regular duties as the vocalist and guitarist in THE BLACK KEYS to promote his recently released solo LP Keep It Hid. The album maintains the bluesy glory of the Keys but tones down the aggression and volume, offering up 14 folk-tinged songs about love and heartache. Joining Auerbach are JESSICA LEE MAYFIELD and JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE, son of legendary singer/songwriter STEVE EARLE.

Athens, Georgia native VIC CHESNUTT may have been partially paralyzed at the age of 18, but that hasn't stopped the singer/songwriter from crafting beautiful and intricate songs for the past two-and-a-half decades. His band is an ever-rotating cast of immensely talented musicians and his stop at Lee's will feature appearances from GUY PICCIOTTO of FUGAZI and a few members of THEE SILVER MT ZION.

MAX TUNDRA is the alter-ego of British multi-instrumentalist and producer extraordinaire BEN JACOBS. Lo-fi buzz-band GIRLS headline the El Mo, fresh off of the September release of their debut LP Album.
