Futurecop! perform live

Futurecop! Ready to Retro Tonight

Futurecop! is a couple of British blokes from Manchester and London who share the love of '80s culture. Their music is a mix of classic video game sounds and soft pop electro synths of the '80s.

They make their first Canadian appearance tonight at The Drake Underground.

The idea of a Future Cop isn't new. There was once a PlayStation game Future Cop: LAPD, where you'd pilot the X1-Alpha robot in Los Angeles to fight the Crime War in the year 2098.

And before that there other incarnations of Future Cop too. Like the TV show in the late '70s (video pictured below)....

Then it transformed into a movie in the late '80s:

Tonight you can bring your Robot Dance to The Drake Underground (1150 Queen Street West) and relive whatever version of the Future Cop you choose. Doors at 9 p.m. $10. Opening guest Theophilus London.

Here's the 21st century version of FutureCop! with their music video Transformers:
