The Rural Alberta Advantage

Clementine XO, Five Blank Pages, Rural Alberta Advantage & The Thurstons: Preview

On Friday night, Rancho Relaxo will host four local acts which, I can safely say, are sweet to listen to with a drink in your hand. Then again, that's how the lot of us listen to music at shows in this city, right?

Clementine XO, Five Blank Pages, Rural Alberta Advantage and The Thurstons are playing a Sunday League Records showcase on Friday, September 29th at Rancho Relaxo. Clementine XO, who play with a "traditional country, bluegrass" sound, are the headlinders. This show will also be known as "CD Release Party: Part II". Their first CD release party was back in mid-August at The Silver Dollar. The band are attached to the other openers, The Rural Alberta Advantage, Fort McMurray's excuse to bang a drum hard, and The Thurstons. One person's sister is in another band, one person's brother is in another band, a sister's brother is in this band and that band has a band with a brother in it.

So yes, after all of that confusion and you being turned off by this preview (I still have your attention, but just barely), I will quickly inform you that all four bands are worth a listen. Five Blank Pages have written new and extremely impressive songs which I guarantee you will enjoy. The Rural Alberta Advantage are always a good time, whether it involves shaking a tambourine or singing/shouting along.
