Hot Ticket for the week of June 26 - July 2

If you like Interpol / the Smiths / Joy Division-style indie rock, then you'd better already have your Organ ticket for this Thursday's sold out show at The Drake. Expect a sombre but powerful show. In my humble opinion, one of Canada's most unique and talented bands. -- MikeR

Everyday rudeboy Kardinal Offishall plays the Opera House (735 Queen St. East) as part of the Toronto Jazz Festival. Wednesday June 28, 9 pm. $20 / $25 -- Ryan

Buck 65 hits Toronto this Friday with Kinnie Starr in tow. Over unexpected bluesy beats, his rough, gruff, gravelly smooth pipes lay down some of the most original rhymes you'll ever hear. And (bonus!) Buck is, above all else, a showman - onstage, his persona charms and mesmerizes; no matter how many times I see him, I never tire of the outrageous stories and far-fetched antics. 9pm, Opera House (735 Queen E), $25/$20 -- Panthea

These are the hangover days, so celebrate Canada day (evening) in indie style with Arts & Crafts / BSS pin-up boy Jason Collett at 8pm, and Montreal's The Dears at 9:30, at the lovely Harbourfront Centre stage. And what's the best part? IT'S 100% FREE. Yeah, FREE. Saturday July 1, best get there early. -- Beth

Toronto's answer to mischief, craziness and a whole bunch of other stuff (like music) will take over The Boat (138 Augusta) on Wednesday night when Henri Faberge & The Adorables perform to their hometown-faithful fans. The Late BP Helium (Of Montreal/Elf Power members) and Jack 'n Ginger perform on the same bill, all for $8 bucks. Doors open at 9pm. -- Gary
