A slim majority of Torontonians say they would support building a casino somewhere in the GTA, according to a poll published by the National Post. Scarborough was the most supportive area of the city, with 58.6% of those polled saying they believe a casino would have a positive impact. Old City of Toronto and Etobicoke were the least supportive. When it came to locations, Woodbine was the most popular followed by Exhibition Place and Ontario Place.

Do you know the difference between Toronto Comicon and Toronto Comic Con? If you do, then you're probably already aware of the festering dispute dubbed "Con Wars" between the two companies organizing the separate events with similar content, names and locations. Though "wars" is a bit of an overstep, according to the Star, Comicon is now filing a lawsuit against Comic Con to protect the name it used in this city first. In previous years the two events were held in separate locations but now they both share the Metro Toronto Convention Centre each spring. Confused?

The AV Club is drafting a request to designate July 13 - the day of Iron Maiden's concert at the Molson Amphitheatre - an official time to celebrate the British heavy metal band's awesome riffage and falsetto vocals. We already have a Neil Young and Bob Marley day, so why not this?

The National Post has devised a neat plan for an ultra high security green bin in an attempt to keep raccoons out of the eggshells and teabags (it's all in their hands, see). Sadly, Kevin Vibert, the city's senior sold-waste management analyst, says no green bin is truly safe unless it's protected by a vault. So much for the old nylon strap and brick then.

Comedy offers from AshleyMadison.com aside, Far Enough Farm is in some deep doo-doo over its funding, or total lack of it, for this year. If the no-one ponies up the cash (sorry about that), the city-owned attraction will close at the end of June as part of cost-saving measures.
