Morning Brew: MGM looks to the waterfront for casino, Far Enough Farm gets propositioned, Harbourfront Centre's angry neighbours, baby albino raccoon spotted

MGM, a Nevada-based gambling resort operator currently lobbying for a casino in the GTA, says it's not interested in building anything at Woodbine and wants something prominent on the downtown waterfront instead, according to the Star. The "$2-billion-plus entertainment mecca," as the paper calls it, could include hotels, theatres, nightclubs, gardens, and a convention centre. If only there was somewhere on the waterfront available...

Meanwhile, Ceasars, another Vegas gambling resort operator, has also expressed an interest in building a casino. The Globe and Mail says the operator of the Woodbine racetrack thinks the Etobicoke location is the best place to put the casino, or entertainment mecca, or resort, or uber-casino.

Cash-strapped Far Enough Farm didn't quite get the knight in shining armour it expected yesterday when AshleyMadison.com, a dating site that specializes in getting people to cheat on their partners, offered to cough up the necessary cash to keep the attraction running for another year. The catch? The farm would be renamed Ashley Madison or Cougar Life Farm (after another of the company's sites). Luckily the city has rules that prevent ridiculous names from being applied to its assets.

Nick Di Donato, the guy behind the Harbourfront Centre's nighttime events, wants you to shut up now if you're one of the local residents calling the police and fire service to complain about noise. In an interview with the Star, Di Donato says he's prepared to stop hosting events at the site if things don't change. Isn't that exactly what the complainers want? Stay strong, Nick!

A few weeks back it was a naked (ok, hairless) raccoon — now wildlife experts have been called in to remove an albino version of the back-alley critter from a North Toronto home. It must be something in the water, because we've seen these types before. Once we're all quite finished gawking, the little guy will be released with its family back into the wild.

Kathy Anderson, the film maker, actor and major league Blue Jays fan behind the Puck My Balls video series, has produced an ode to all the unsung fans up in the nosebleeds at the Rogers Centre. If this doesn't make you want to don a ball cap and belt out OK Blue Jays on game day then I don't know what will.
