The planned Union-Pearson rail link should include at least eight extra stops — including ones at Queen West, St. Clair and Eglinton — according to a group of councillors. Currently, only two stops are planned at Bloor and Weston, and many see that small-scale thinking as a missed opportunity to provide service to a greater number of people. The new ARL will operate on the Georgetown GO corridor by the 2015 Pan American Games. Just don't ask about how much it's going to cost to ride.

Last week we discussed whether Toronto has any uniquely annoying traits (are we living in a "world class city", etc. etc.) and turned up some pretty interesting results. Now, as if on cue, the president of the University of Toronto says 416ers should lose the self-pity and get some pride. David Naylor says the constant handwringing makes Toronto seem like the "Woody Allen" of Alpha cities.

Also in self-congratulating, the National Post reminds its Toronto readers to be proud of our municipal water supply for its world-class (world class!) quality. According to the article, we're lucky to enjoy first-rate council juice sourced from the frigid depths of Lake Ontario. Unlike bottled water, municipal water is checked for bacteria every few hours.

The unsung work of Toronto Zoo got some publicity in the Star this weekend during a look at the organisation's work with endangered species, threatened habitats and genetic research. The insight came as Councillor Sarah Doucette Tweeted she'll make a "big funding announcement" concerning High Park Zoo.

The Blue Jays will take to the field at Rogers Centre for the first time this season tonight when they take on the Boston Red Sox but fans in the upper decks might not be quite as enthusiastic as normal — beer sales will be limited in the cheap seats. The team wants to reduce the number of fights in the nosebleeds. I now have no reason to go to a baseball game.

We posted the Total Recall teaser trailer a little while back, though it revealed almost nothing of the movie's shooting location. Now with the full-length version out, perhaps we can do some Toronto-spotting.
