Morning Brew: No money for Sheppard subway study, Harper in town to announce funding for Island airport tunnel, Toronto house sells for $421,800 over asking

This just doesn't bode well for Sheppard subway supporters. The Gordon Chong-led study of funding options for an extension to the Sheppard line ran out of money — last October! Chong and other consultants are owed more than $100,000, though it's unlikely they'll recoup the money. What a mess.

But hey, at least Rob Ford is getting some sort of tunnel. This morning Prime Minister Stephen Harper will join Ford at the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport where it's expected Harper will announce federal funding for the pedestrian tunnel linking the island airport to the mainland. So catch the shortest-ferry-ride-ever while you still can.

Are you a twentysomething who can't stand Tweeting, Facebooking, or even — gasp! — Pinning? According to The Grid, you're not alone (although you might feel like it). The publication's feature story this week examines how introverts are surviving in this overloaded-TMI digital world of ours.

It looks like smokers might have an even smaller area to do their dirty business. The city is considering expanding the outdoor ban on smoking. Currently, the ban extends to within nine metres of city playgrounds, splash pads and wading pools.

For further proof that Toronto's real estate market is bananas, just consider this three bedroom bungalow in Willowdale, which sold for $421,800 over its asking price. Who knew a million bucks bought so much?
