Morning Brew: More job losses possible at the TTC, the first Metropass, the city's youngest food critic, bed bugs are still around, and what you missed over the weekend
Apparently Gary Webster isn't the only one who could end up losing his job for not "respecting the office of the mayor." According to Frank Di Giorgio, a TTC commissioner and Rob Ford fan, up to five senior transit managers could be getting a pink slip, too. "We're trying to eliminate some of the problems that surfaced over the last month that should not have surfaced and need not have surfaced," he said. By problems, he means not kissing the mayor's feet.
It was on April Fool's Day in 1980 when the first TTC metropass was purchased by Metro Toronto chairman Paul Godfrey. It was a bit cumbersome then, with a two-part pass that included a laminated photo ID card and a portion that was replaced monthly. The pass sold for $26, which not only was $10 more than its Montreal equivalent but one had to use the pass 52 times before receiving "free" trips. See, some things never change.

Well, the news might have dwindled on the subject, but the bed bugs didn't go away. In fact, it's actually gotten worse. And you thought you were itchy for no reason.
