Apparently Rob Ford's "approval rating" on Twitter is piss poor. According to research done by the Social Media Group, of all the 43,000 times our mayor was mentioned on social media outlets, including, er, blogs, fewer than 3,000 had a positive spin to it. RoFo's online approval has actually been steadily sinking for the past four months, but with those service cut threats, the Pride snub, the war on graffiti, and the Margaret Atwood controversy, that's not entirely surprising. Ford nation, of course, isn't known to dominate the Tweetdeck, so it's unlikely that the mayor's concerned about this in the slightest.

Even though it seems as though it's been going on for months already, the Ontario provincial election officially kicks off today. Recent polls suggest Conservative leader Tim Hudak has a slight edge over Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty. But don't count out NDP leader Andrea Horwarth, who's been gaining steam after the outpouring of support related to the loss of Jack Layton. At this stage, the election's outcome is anyone's guess. At the last election in 2007, Ontario had its lowest voter turnout of all time, so don't forget to vote on October 6;

Just when you thought it was safe to walk outside downtown without being hit from something above, think again: more glass has fallen from a downtown condo. The incident happened yesterday at Bay Street and Grosvenor Street — sound familiar? It's the same Murano complex that had a glass-falling incident last month, which cut a pedestrian's arm. Hey, wasn't the condo developer supposed to replace all the tempered glass in the balconies? Thank goodness no one was hurt.

This sounds rather fishy. Residents in a Jane St. and Grandravine area apartment complex have been without power since Saturday afternoon. A handmade sign in the building says it's due to an "electrical problem," however Toronto Hydro says there are no equipment problems on their end and didn't receive any phone calls from the building's management. On Tuesday, some of the power was restored but the majority of the floors remain dark.
