Morning Brew: Mayoral hopefuls to crash Labour Day Parade, Stanley Cup comes to Mimico, emergency room waits, Rob Ford underestimated, Canadian flag faux-pas

Rocco Rossi and Sarah Thomson plan to crash the Labour Day Parade. Only Joe Pantalone was invited to walk in the parade. President of the Labour Council,John Cartwright plans to give the cold-shoulder to the parade-crashers as the event is meant to show what a great mayor Pantalone would make. Neither Pantalone nor Cartwright will be inviting Rossi or Thomson to their birthday parties and want their BFF bracelets back.

The Stanley Cup paid a visit to Toronto after a very, very long drought. It wasn't the blue and white local favourites bringing it home, but Chicago Blackhawk and Mimico native David Bolland held a parade in his hometown with the Cup. Perhaps this will be inspiration for the Leafs to step up and win it as the Blackhawks June win left Toronto with the longest streak for not winning the cup.

If you're unlucky enough to need a trip to the ER, you might want to bring a book... and a snack... and a toothbrush. You could be there a while. Toronto wait times on average range between about 10 to 18 hours in the emergency room. One in 10 may have to wait over 30 hours.

Rob Ford might have been underestimated. Or maybe the effect of his brashness was overestimated. Ford holds a six to 11 point lead over his nearest competition, George Smitherman. However, with two months left in the race there is ample time for table turning. In 2003, current mayor David Miller was trailing heavily in the polls.

The Canadian flag does not share... at least when it comes to poles. If you're planning on flying it remember, it flies solo. An Ajax pumping station along with many others have forgotten their flag etiquette.
