The last of the G20 detainees has been released on bail. Erik Lankin, 23, was released under house arrest after spending more than two months behind bars. The young man was charged with conspiracy to obstruct police, conspiracy to assault police, and conspiracy to commit mischief. I'm assuming that after the house arrest, he's still got time to run for mayor.

Speaking of the G20 police admit that they made some mistakes during the notorious weekend. Namely, the decision to box in about 250 people on Sunday evening, an act which took four hours in "torrential rain." Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair qualified the confession by saying that "kettling" itself wasn't a bad idea, but that the length of time it took wasn't so hot. No kidding. Live and learn...

Mayoral hopeful George Smitherman may be guilty of dropping the "f-bomb" according to the Rossi camp. A young volunteer alleges that Smitherman told her off as she handed him papers questioning his work with youths, before he took to the podium Thursday night at Hart House. Smitherman admits that he told her to "screw off" but refrained from using the f-bomb. When asked about the slip-up, Bruce Davis, Smitherman's campaign manager retorted, "Ask a question about Rob Ford's transit plan. Where the hell is the plan? He has no plan." Wasn't this between Rossi and Smitherman?

The Toronto Star has a section called "This is Why I'm Voting For Rob Ford" even though Ford refuses to speak to them. Now The Globe and Mail is running something similar but with different people. Perhaps they too have got themselves in hot water with the Ford party.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are affiliated with at least one thing that has won something, a sports bar. The Real Sports Bar and Grill has been nominated as the best sports bar in North America. It took off around the World Cup and has been a huge success ever since.

A small Toyota lost control and collided with the Ferris' apple tree on Friday morning. No one was hurt, not even the tree. Some apples fell, but they'll soon be used for apple-sauce. In case you were wondering, the article doesn't mention where this collision occurred, but I'm sure there'll be live coverage of it soon.
