Are you sick and tired of digging through your Facebook account, trying to figure out and fill all the questionable privacy and third-party advertiser holes? A couple of Torontonians have declared today Quit Facebook Day, and so far over 26,000 people have joined the movement. I'm not sure what's worse: the site's track-record, or how so many people I know have all but completely replaced face time, email and phone interaction with status updates and Farmville requests.

Hotel + boat = boatel. One of the newest boutique hotels in Toronto is a three bedroom floating bed and breakfast called The Making Waves Boatel, and is run by a retired couple out of docks at HTO Park West. Ted and Diane Greene had been operating the service for a few years but are just returning to the city after a two-year hiatus.

City Councillor and Toronto Cycling Committee head Adrian Heaps thinks that instead of pursuing our quest to reach an arbitrary milestone of 1000km of bike lanes in the city, perhaps we ought to focus more on completing a smaller network that connects and better integrates existing bikeway trails and downtown bikeways.

Since 1986, The Boardwalk Pub at Ashbridge's Bay Park has been the only business along the popular stretch of beach allowed to sell food, alcohol, and boardwalk merchandise. A couple of weeks ago, despite calls from the community to open the doors to competition, city council opted to renew and extend the monopoly through 2028. Now a small group of residents are calling for the city's auditor-general to conduct a review of the process that allowed this extensive and exclusive arrangement to continue.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed 60-year old Benjamin Netanyahu. A strong two-way player, the debate over whether he'll be a key addition to the team's offence or defence is one that'll likely never end.
