Four Eyed Monsters

Generation DIY at the Bloor Starting This Thursday

Way back in 2005 Susan Buice and Arin Crumley made a low budget film called Four Eyed Monsters. It was a crowd favourite at some small US film festivals which led to screenings in two dozen cities and a small theatrical release in Manhattan. Coverage in the New York Times followed along with a Wikipedia entry. In 2007 they posted it online where it set a precedent as the first full length film to be screened on YouTube.

Fast forward to this Saturday, June 21st where it makes its Canadian theatrical debut at the Bloor Cinema as part of the upcoming Generation DIY Festival.

It's just one of thirteen low budget, independent, American-made films that will screen in a four day period starting this Thursday. Some of the other ones on the bill include the opening night film Nights and Weekends, The Guatemalan Handshake and The Death of Indie Rock.

And guess what? We've landed three double passes to the entire film festival that we're going to give away right now. Each double pass has a value of $50 and gets you in to all 13 films and the director Q&As.

Want one? Just be one of the first three to place a comment below naming a film that screened in competition at this year's Cannes Film Festival. All winning entries must name a different film. Good luck!
