This Week in Fashion: Soop Soop, eBay features Rebekah Price, Kastor & Pollux capsule collection launch party, TNT and Denise summer clearance sales

This Week in Fashion rounds up the week's style news, store openings and closings, pop-up shops, sales and upcoming fashion and design events in Toronto. Find it here every Wednesday morning.

NEWS

Newly launched (we're talking just two months ago kind of new) online clothing shop SOOP SOOP is already making noise in its home town Toronto. The website makes it easy for fashion-savvy individuals to vintage shop sans the weird smell, presenting customers with a super clean layout and views of every garment at every angle. The best part is how affordable everything is, considering the platform and how easy it is to find well-picked vintage online at crazy prices. Plus, their selection of men's jackets is the toppest of top notch.

EVENTS/PARTIES

Until next Wednesday (August 15th), eBay Canada is featuring jewellery by Toronto's own Rebekah Price. The event offers her necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, brooches, and even cufflinks bling'd out with Swarovski crystals and starting at $50. The collaboration also made room for one particular eBay exclusive: rose gold plated drop earrings. Shop the entire collection online.

Join Danielle Roche and I tomorrow (August 9) in celebrating the launch of our first reworked vintage capsule collection under our Toronto-based brand Kastor & Pollux. Sip on French 75 cocktails and enjoy hors d'oeuvres at Magwood (1418 Dundas St W) from 8 pm until midnight while perusing the line of fifteen womenswear garments, as well as footwear and jewellery between $22 and $79. Please RSVP.

This weekend (August 11 and August 12), Paintlounge is hosting Painted Jewels: do-it-yourself jewellery workshops as led by up-and-coming boutique Simply Giovanna. The one-part session - where you walk away with your own handmade necklace - costs $20, while the $30 two-part session teaches you how to make two. Register on their website.

Clothing swaps are taking the sustainable world by storm, and Uniiverse and the Touchstone Youth Centre know it. Next Tuesday (August 14), the pair are collaborating to host a non-profit swap at The industREALarts Room (688 Richmond Street West) from 7 pm until 9 pm. If you need more incentive to attend other than being green and cleaning out your cluttered closets, there will be complimentary Starbucks and cupcake tastings. Bring a bag of gently used clothing an hour before the event to participate. Find out more and RSVP here.

SALES

For most retailers, sale season is coming to a slow but sure end as summer fashions are picked off messy sale racks and fall collections start trickling in. TNT, on the other hand, has only just begun its final summer clearance sale. Until it's all gone, coveted and exclusive brands are marked down at least 75% off. Visit either - or both, if you're keen on it - locations (388 - 392 Eglinton Ave W and 87 Avenue Rd) for the deal.

Starting tomorrow (August 9) and stretching until the weekend (August 12), Denise is holding its own huge summer sale - this time at a warehouse (50 Paxman Rd, Unit 14). After closing the Square One location, there's no doubt a plethora of Paige, Miss Me, and Pink Martini marked at up to 70% off will be waiting for you.
