There's yet another a new boutique set to open up in the rising fashion neighbourhood of Dundas West, and it's sure to bring the area one step closer to Queen West's level. The ladies behind Bridge + Bardot - Rose Broadbent, Gurjeet Bassi, and Gagan Bassi - have been "on their grind" and participating in various pop-ups and sale parties, for quite some time before taking on a permanent shop at 1138 Dundas Street West. Join them at the grand opening party this Friday (July 13) to peruse the girls' handpicked vintage clothing complimented by pieces from Toronto designers Muttonhead, KaKia, Varsity Brown, and more.

After months of whispers, planning, federal reviewing, and buzz over Target coming to Canada, the retailer has officially won approval to convert almost 135 Zellers stores into Targets. The company plans to take the Canadian market by storm, promoting culturally relevant products, creating up to 25,000 new jobs by 2015, and supporting Canadian events.

If you haven't been already, stop by the Trinity Tuck Shop (198 Walnut Avenue), which opened a few weeks ago just across from Trinity Bellwoods Park. The retro pop-up is open all summer long (except Mondays) from noon until 6 pm, and offers everything you need for a day at the park, including (but not limited to) candy, gelato, tie-dyed tees, overalls, and tennis racquets for rent!

EVENTS/PARTIES

Tonight (July 11), Minnow Bathers launch their Spring/Summer 2012 video look book by Toronto talent Jeremy Jansen. Enjoy the mermaid-esque collection represented in film over beer and oysters from 7 pm until 11 pm at N/A (1585 Dundas Street West).

On Friday (July 13), head down to Magic Pony (680 Queen Street West) from 6 pm until 8 pm to get your nails did super funky by artist Sholem Krishtalka. You're encouraged to pay what you can, but the suggested donation is $10.

Don't miss the Fashion Lovers Pop-up taking place tomorrow (July 12) at Local Co. (511 Danforth Avenue). You'll find the up-and-coming styles of newly-opened boutique T.S.O.Q., Killigrew Fashion, and Ana Bogdanovic.

Aspiring fashion designers take note: there's another fashion camp hitting Toronto. This time, anyone at any age willing to shell out $250 can attend Fashion Weekly's one-day-only event taking place July 14, including well-known guest speakers, sponsored fashion challenges (with prizes), a catered lunch break, an internship job fair, and best of all, swag bags!

This weekend (July 14 and 15 from 10 am until 8 pm), the Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen Street West) will be home to a pop-up shop featuring 442 McAdam (a collection of handbags for men and women by Sarah Shell), and Erin Simkin's travel photography. There will also be vintage designer optical frames available at the shop.

On Sunday (July 15), Uncle Otis and Jonathan + Olivia are coming together to bring the city "cheap and cheerful BBQ fare" including burgers, hotdogs, and drinks - all set to the sweet tunes of CREEP designer Hiroshi Awai and Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning. Join them at Red Bull 381 Projects (381 Queen Street West) from 5 pm until 10 pm.

For the next two weekends (July 14/15 and July 21/22), The Queens Trunk will be presenting a pop-up shop at 694 B Queen Street West showcasing and celebrating British high fashion. The pieces will include vintage and designer clothing and accessories, all of which are either brand new or worn once (by celebrities on red carpets, television, or for magazine shoots, no less). The shop will be open each day from 12:15 pm until 8 pm.

SALES

It's that wonderful time of year again - a time where summer's halfway through, fall clothing is trickling onto store shelves, and John Fluevog begins the Annual John Fluevog Thinks You're Awesome Sale. If you're in need of a wacky footwear fix, shop online or in stores to get up to 60% off on select styles.

The Sample Sale Guys are coming to Toronto (read: Richmond Hill) for a huge 4-day summer sale of both men's and women's collections. Get your designer (including JBrand, Michael Kors, Rag + Bone, and more) clothing at 40% - 80% off at the Sheraton Hotel (600 Hwy 7 East) from tomorrow until Sunday (July 12 - July 15).

Having started yesterday, The Chief Salvage Co.'s (1493 Dundas St. West) big summer sale is on now until July 15. Regular customers can enjoy 30% off all items in the store, while newsletter subscribers receive 40% off.
