7 trends from Toronto Fashion Week

Burgundy

Drink away this winter and don't worry about spills, because red wine stains will blend right into these burgundy looks seen at

Luxe Fabrics

Recession what? Unemployment who? Luxe fabrics like bleached velvet, deerskin leather, ostrich feathers, and all kinds of fur came down the runway at Jeremy Laing, Lucian Matis, Pink Tartan, and Travis Taddeo.

Jutted Shoulders

Not your mother's shoulder pads, these pretty protrusions appeared at Greta Constantine, Ashtiani, and Jean-Pierre Braganza.

Peplums

For the skinny girl who wants an hourglass figure just for the day, peplums were featured in Joeffer Caoc, Pink Tartan, and Pavoni.

Military

Military-inspired looks full of metallic hardware, leather, and army greens were seen at Rad Hourani, Chloe Comme Parris, and Ruffian.

White After Labour Day

All-white-everything outfits appeared at Greta Constantine, Pink Tartan, Arthur Mendonca, and Melissa Nepton. Take a cue from the models for this look: don't eat and wear.

Darkness

Black is back as dark melancholic looks took the stage at Line Knitwear, Sid Neigum, Greta Constantine, Lucian Matis, and Arthur Mendonca.
