This Week in Fashion: Jacob channels Audrey Hepburn, Obakki sells water bottles for a cause, Lancome celebrates women, The Artist Project sets up shop

Jacob Launches New Hepburn-Inspired L'Atelier Line
Jacob's out to prove there's nothing slapping a fancy-schmancy name on a label can't fix. But seriously, it's nice to see a Canadian brand step up its game. The new collection is comprised of 10 knee and floor-length styles that channel Audrey Hepburn and offer customers more "sophisticated" options for "weddings, galas, and graduations." The limited-edition line ranges from $149 to $229, and you'll probably like it, because it's pretty hard to screw up Audrey Hepburn.

Royal Doulton's Warehouse Sale
This is a big find for those who like their tableware pedigreed, but not so much so that it can't come from a warehouse sale. Dinnerware, crystal, and giftware will be up to 80 per cent off-- perfect for stocking up on wedding and shower gifts. I know the teaware will appeal to a few friends who still haven't recovered from the Royal Wedding crazies. The sale runs from March 1-25 at 465 Milner Ave., Units 3-7, Scarborough.

Obakki Launches Collaboration with bkr Water Bottles
Canadian luxury fashion brand, Obakki, launched their new water bottle collaboration with bkr (pronounced "beaker," but acronyms are just so irresistibly trendy these days) at their Fall/Winter 2012 presentation during New York Fashion Week. Bkrs are 500 mL reusable glass bottles with sleek silicone sleeves. They're FDA approved, BPA-free, BPA replacement free, and phthalate free (I'm hoping someone explains what that all means in the comments section). 100 per cent of the proceeds from each water bottle purchase will be used by the Obakki Foundation to provide education and clean water for communities in Africa. They're for sale here.

Lancôme Celebrates Women
On March 1, Lancôme will launch a campaign to support Look Good Feel Better, Canada's only cancer charity dedicated to empowering women by managing the effects that cancer and its treatments have on their appearance. They'll donate $7 for every Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate sold (but a 75 mL bottle is $155, so big whoop) at Lancôme counters in Canada or at lancome.ca between March 1 and 14. In a more wallet-friendly move, they'll also donate $1 for every new fan of the Lancôme Canada Facebook page.

The Artist Project Kicks Off
The Artist Project celebrates its fifth year with a show featuring original works of art from over 200 independent contemporary artists. The interactive art fair is a great opportunity to meet and purchase work directly from Canadian and International artists (but mostly Canadian, because we support homegrown talent, right??). The show runs from March 1-4 at Exhibition Place's Queen Elizabeth Building. Find more details here.
