This Week in Fashion: The Sales of the Season edition and other retail news

Sales of the season

Starting today, you'll have three more reasons to shop Canadian — or well, just shop. Acclaimed menswear designer Philip Sparks is holding a sample sale and end of season clearance. And in case you forgot: he now does exceptional clothing for ladies, too.
July 21 - July 24, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., 639 Queen St. W., 5th Floor

Next week online-only shop Ukamaku opens its office and showroom doors to the public on July 26 for sweet deals on Canadian favourites like print master Zoran Dobric, vegan leather but still-in-vogue bags from Nella Bella and budding designer Emily Woudenberg who also works magic with jewellery.
July 26, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 219 Dufferin Street (Suite 224C)

And until August 20, Forest Hill fashion mainstay Magnolia Boutique is having its most massive end of season clearance to date, making way for new fall favourites. The sale features international designers like Pringle of Scotland, DKNY and Paul Smith - alongside Canadian brands like IZMA and David Dixon — all in one of six price categories: $10, $25, $50, $75, $99 and $125.
333 Ellington Ave. W.

Also, don't forget — Joe Fresh's Golden Mile store opens today (July 21) with 20 per cent off your entire purchase all day. As part of the opening weekend events, there will be discounts and promotions all weekend long. 1880 Eglinton Ave. E.

New jewellery alert: Tori.XO and Rita & Zia debut in Toronto

Swiss-based jewellery and accessories line has finally launched in Canada with much fanfare. Available exclusively online (for now), you'll find yellow and rose gold plated and sterling silver wares mixed with stones like sandal wood, ebony, turquoise, Czech crystals, Aventurine, Quartz and jade and many more.

Halifax-based Tori Poynton's new line of sterling silver pieces is now available in downtown boutiques Any Direct Flight and Elle Hardware. Poynton's already got a cult following, and her range of handmade goods has landed on celebs like Jill Hennessy and Dixie Chick Martie Maguire. The pieces are soft and subtle, inspired by the Australian native's trek through the flea markets from Europe to South America. Check out more here.

Odds & ends

The Peacock Parade, a new "flash sale" website for Canadian women to get designers goods cheap, officially launches today. Read my write-up here.

The Chief Salvage Co. is hosting a big ass sale this Saturday with nothing over $20. Queen West vintage shop Philistine will also have a table to paw over. Get more details here.
