My Paved Runway - Jameela Lencucha

Being short (and rather short-waisted at that), my jealousy runs wild when I see flawless execution of high-waisted pants. All self-loathing aside, it's nice to see a classic version of that style.

Who: Jameela Lencucha, 25, Occupational Therapist

Spotted: Bloor St. W. and Brunswick Ave.

What are you wearing?
[The pants] are from Mendocino, [the top] is Anthropologie, [the bag] is m0851 and the scarf I got in India.

Where do you enjoy shopping?
Anything Queen W. I like independent stores if I can find them. Also Club Monaco, Aritzia, Mendocino.

What was your style like ten years ago?
Somewhat the same, I guess I wasn't as adventurous.

Does that influence your style now?
Generally I have the same principles. In high school I played a lot of sports so I went for more of the athletic wear. I also work part-time at Lululemon so I still like wearing comfortable clothes.

Are you a follower of trends?
I enjoy fashion but I definitely don't follow trends. I try and find what works for me. I always say I don't really judge a style until I see it on someone because I think it's very individual.

Are there any items you're looking to incorporate into your wardrobe for the fall/winter season?
It's always worth having a nice pair of jeans. I just bought a leather-bomber jacket for the fall.

What items are you willing to spend more money on?
A nice bag and anything that looks unique that I think I'll wear a lot. I'm comfortable spending money on things now because I tend to wear them a lot if they feel comfortable and last for awhile.
